History
We started as a volunteer fire department in 1981 when the population in our city expanded and the community had a need for a department. As the years went on, our citizens demanded better service and quicker response times, allowing us to switch to a paid fire service in 1990. We added more firefighters, more apparatus, and more stations to supply our community with their request. Today, we have four fire stations with nine pieces of frontline apparatus, 45 Firefighter/EMT's, 5 officers, and several support staff members combining to protect Brickton Beach. We are also supported with over twenty volunteer Firefighter/EMT's.
