Stations/Units

Station 1- Engine 31, Squad 31, RFD Medic 20, Rescue 31

Station 1 is the newest station in our department and was recently completed in 2019. It replaced an older station built in 1981. Station 1 is home to Engine 31, Squad 31, Medic 20, and Rescue 31.

Engine 31 is a 2015 EOne Typhoon and is staffed with two firefighter/EMTs and an officer. Squad 31 is a 2019 EOne Typhoon rescue pumper. It staffs two firefighter/EMTs and one officer. Squad 31 carries a variety of advanced extrication and rescue tools and responds on all vehicle extrications and rescue calls. Rescue 31 is a 2007 Freightliner/Hackney medium-duty rescue. It serves as a complement piece to Squad 31 and can be cross-staffed with its personnel. Rescue 31 has many special tools and equipment for HAZMAT scenes, technical rescue incidents, and water rescues.

Medic 20 is one of two medics that service Brickton Beach. These two medics are contracted from the Riverview Fire District. Medic 20 is a 2015 Freightliner/Horton Ambulance. It is staffed with two Firemedics.

Station 2- Truck 32, Battalion 30, Marine 32, RFD Medic 18, Reserve Engine 301

Station 2 was built in 1990 when we switched to a paid department. It houses Truck 32, Battalion 30, and Medic 18. Station 2 also staffs Marine 32, which is docked at the Palmer Marina. Truck 32 is a 2016 EOne Typhoon Quint with a 78' Aerial ladder, and is staffed with two firefighter/EMTs and one officer. Quint units are versatile because they have both a ladder and a 500 gallon water tank, allowing firefighters to accomplish several tasks with one unit. Medic 18 is the second ambulance provided by the Riverview Fire District. Medic 18 is a 2009 Freightliner M2/MedTec ambulance. It is staffed with two firemedics. Battalion 30 is a 2019 Chevy Tahoe and is manned by a battalion chief. Marine 32 is a 2019 32' Boston Whaler Fire Boat. It is docked at Palmer Marina and responds on all calls in the harbor. It can be used for water rescues and fires in or around the harbor.

Station 3- Engine 33, Brush 33, Tanker 33, Reserve Engine 302, Reserve Engine 303

Station 3 was built in 1995 and staffs Engine 33, Brush 33, and Tanker 33. Engine 33 is a 2022 E-One Cyclone II. It is staffed by two Firefighter/EMTs and one officer. Brush 33 is a 2020 Ford F-350/E-One Brush unit. It can be cross staffed with Engine 33's crew and responds on brush fires in Brickton Beach. Tanker 33 is a 2021 International/E-One Tanker that has a tank capacity of 2,000 gallons. Two reserve engines are also kept at Station 3, Engine 302 and Engine 303. These units can replace a frontline apparatus in the event of maintenance or repair, or be staffed during a large-scale emergency.

Station 4- Engine 34, Attack 34

Station 4 is located on Stone Island approximately one mile off Brickton Beach. Because there is no bridge connecting Stone Island to Brickton Beach, all traffic going to and from the island must go either by boat or car ferry. During an emergency, this can represent a lengthy response time, which prompted officials to open a fire station to service the area 24/7. If other emergency units are required, they can respond to the island via the car ferry, which is active 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The current Station 4 was constructed in 1991. The station is permanently staffed with one Firefighter/EMT and one officer. This ensures a timely response to the 400+ residents on the island.

Station 4 houses Engine 34 and Attack 34. Engine 34 is a 2011 International/Pierce PUC. Attack 34 is a 2005 Ford-F550/E-One mini pumper.
